Hershkovits hits so many high points that the anticipation for the next album is already bubbling up. Each composition is itself but also a part of this whole project. Really, the flow both creates connection and singularity. From one piece to the next, the rhythmic and tonal shifts are never violent. here, the solo piano works its magic and fills the space with lovely, sad, joyous, melancholy and so many more emotions and colors. From the start of Hershkovits’ fifth studio album, the rippling runs mixed with more jagged or syncopated playing sets the style and overall tone The French Impressionist style runs through the whole album, giving it a warmth and a delicateness that more free form jazz doesn’t always contain. Instead, they have a fluidity to them that also encompasses memorable themes and motifs that also have a rather Claude Debussy sound to them. Further, it shows off his ability to craft careful and thoughtful compositions that don’t run away from melodic inclinations. ‘Call on the Old Wise’ is his ECM solo debut-though he has appeared on two of saxophonist Oded Tzur’s projects. An album that has been on repeat since its arrival for review, this is a more than worthy addition to the ECM solo piano catalogue and will delight followers of both the jazz-related releases and New Series recordings of the imprint. The music throughout is wide-ranging and leaves Hershkovits free to explore not just his interest in jazz but also his extensive knowledge of classical music. All are just the right length there are no static or dull spots, and even when at their briefest and done in little more than a minute, there is a sense of completeness and that playing anything more would destroy the mood and balance of the composition. In this mostly improvised set of eighteen pieces, none of which exceed four and a half minutes, each appears as a fully formed miniature. Previously heard on ‘Here Be Dragons’ and ‘Isabela’ with tenor saxophonist Oded Tzur, this is Hershkovits’s debut under his own name for the label in a beguiling and constantly shifting set of pieces that appear to explore multiple ideas and directions simultaneously. The ECM catalogue boasts a long line in solo piano recordings, and with ‘Call on the Old Wise,’ it has another impressive album to add to the library. ‘Call on the Old Wise’ leans more firmly on the pianist’s classical inclinations and soundworld these are exquisitely executed inventions, full of surprise, sensitivity and no small amount of romanticism, that emerge like spontaneous real-time compositions. Hershkovits, born to a Moroccan mother and a Polish father, is a fascinating and gifted player who has been a vital member of forward-thinking groups led by the bassist Avishai Cohen and the saxophonist Oded Tzur. On his debut album for the label, the 35-year-old Israeli pianist Nitai Hershkovits adopts, similar to Jarrett, a ‘largely improvised’ approach to the challenge of maintaining colour and momentum over the course of 50 minutes or more. This is the latest in the long and illustrious line of solo piano albums from estimable German label ECM – a tradition that stretches back to the astonishing 1970s recordings of Keith Jarrett, whose landmark triple LP, ‘Solo Concerts: Bremen/Lausanne’, has recently been reissued on ‘audiophile vinyl’ to mark its 50th anniversary. The freshly released piano solo album Call On The Old Wise by Nitai Hershkovits is welcomed by international media 1963 thunderbird I have proper removal tool but cant get anywhere with it, Ive tried softly softly etc is the clip embedded or can I use some sort of 'hook puller'. Asked by Neil at 12:35 PM about the 1963 Ford Thunderbird. The undercarriage was also reportedly refreshed during the refurbishment. I cant get the inside door handle off of my 1963 thunderbird. The engine and transmission were reportedly rebuilt under prior ownership, and the selling dealer notes that the ignition and cooling systems were overhauled under current ownership. The P-code 312ci Y-block V8 is topped with a four-barrel carburetor and was factory rated at 225 horsepower, which is sent to the rear wheels through a Fordomatic three-speed automatic transmission. The analog clock does not work, and the five-digit odometer shows 56k miles, approximately 1,800 of which have been added under current ownership. The three-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and frames an Astra Dial instrument cluster housing a sweeping 150-mph speedometer, a 5k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. Equipment includes a Town and Country AM radio, a floor-mounted gear selector, crank windows, and a locking glovebox. The cabin features a bench seat upholstered in white and black vinyl while engine-turned metal trim accents the color-coordinated dashboard and door panels. Per the selling dealer, the current owner serviced the brakes and rebuilt the front and rear suspension components during the aforementioned refurbishment. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is supplied by drums at each corner. The replacement white soft top shows wear, and exterior details include a hood scoop, chrome bumpers, fender vents, auxiliary parking lights, a fixed antenna, and rear tail fins.Ĭhrome 15″ wire wheels wear 205/75 Firestone FR380 whitewall tires, and a body-color Continental spare wheel assembly is accented with chrome and mounted on the rear bumper. The car was refinished in its factory shade of Raven Black under current ownership and features a body-color removable hardtop with porthole windows. This Thunderbird is now offered on dealer consignment with rear fender skirts, Thunder-branded rubber floor mats, and a clean Florida title. A 312ci V8 sends power to the rear wheels via a three-speed Fordomatic automatic transmission, and additional features a body-color removable hardtop with porthole windows, a white soft top, a rear Continental kit, and 15″ wire wheels with whitewall tires as well as power steering, an AM radio, and a bench seat upholstered in black and white vinyl. This 1956 Ford Thunderbird was acquired by the current owner in 2009 and is said to have undergone a decade-long refurbishment under current ownership, with work reportedly including a repaint along with a refresh of the suspension, braking, ignition, and cooling system components. Ratliff made the jobs of Ware, Ellis, Spencer, and other outside linebackers trying to get to the quarterback much easier. Over his career, he earned 4 Pro Bowls and a first-team All-Pro in 2009. It eventually cost Jerry Jones upwards of $40 million in 2011, with $18 million guaranteed. His quickness, explosiveness, and power at the snap made him a household name and beloved by Cowboys fans. In 2007, when Wade Phillips took over, Jay Ratliff went from a rotational player to being the team's nose tackle. He ran a 3-4 defense, and there was no way Ratliff could play the interior at his size. Now in 2005, Bill Parcells was the head coach. Demarcus Ware, Spears, Ratliff, Marion Barber, and Chris Canty. Notwithstanding, the former defensive tackle from Auburn was a conundrum of sorts.Įarly in his career, the Cowboys envisioned him playing the defensive edge role like Marcus Spears.īy the way, the 2005 NFL draft of the Dallas Cowboys was one for the ages. There are many feel-good stories across the NFL but Miles Austin's stack right up there with them.ĭemarcus Lawrence and Jay Ratliff rocked the Number 90 Wellĭallas has been lucky to land on some excellent prospects but getting Jay Ratliff in the 7th round in 2005 is near the top. He was one of Tony Romo's go-to receivers and scratched out 2 Pro Bowls in the process. The 35 touchdowns were the cherries on top. Over the seven years with Dallas, Miles Austin racked up 301 receptions and 4481 receiving yards. He turned his chance into the Cowboys' single-game receiving record (10 catches for 250 yards) against the Kansas City Chiefs. Subsequently after Terrell Owens exited stage right, there was a noticeable verbal void along with a statistical one.Īustin embraced the opportunity of filling the stat sheet. Most undrafted players out of Monmouth University find it challenging to grab one of those musical chairs that we commonly dub a roster spot.Īfter a couple of seasons of making a name for himself doing kick returns, he earned his chance at one of the wide receiver roles. However, he did what any intelligent young player eager to earn playing time would do.Īustin used his talents on special teams and made an impact in a big way. Miles Austin was not a lock to make the roster back in 2006. Before Amari Cooper wore #19, Miles Austin made it famous Here is a list of four players who scrapped and clawed their way to a roster spot and an impact role for the team. They have historically been comfortable turning every stone to find the best talent to field a team.Īs a lover of all things football, I appreciate the players who had to work for their spots on the roster. However, we have a few other players who equally fit the bill their stories are as interesting as the team's last two signal callers. Both guys deserve to be on the list, but they've received enough of the headlines. The Dallas Cowboys have a long history of talent, so starting in the year 2000 seems more than reasonable.Īdditionally, expecting to see Tony Romo's name or Dak Prescott's may leave some discomfort. To follow this tutorial, it does not matter if your project is based on the Pages Router or the new App Router. If your Next.js application is older than the recommended version, you can upgrade it by following the official migration guide. Let’s now learn how to configure CORS in Next.js! Prerequisites for learning to configure CORS in Next.jsīefore moving to the next section, be sure to meet the prerequisites below: Applications hosted on the trusted domains will then be able to make requests to your Next.js API routes. This way, you can explicitly allow cross-origin requests for specific origins. To avoid that issue, you need to enable CORS by configuring the appropriate headers on the Next.js server. For example, if you had an application hosted on a different domain that needed to access those APIs in the frontend, it would be blocked by those cross-origin restrictions. However, there are scenarios where you may want to access those endpoints from other origins. This means they can only be accessed in the browser by pages within the same domain. As mentioned earlier, APIs in Next.js do not involve CORS headers by default, following a same-origin policy instead. Next.js has supported API development since v9.4. If you want to change that, you must configure it manually. By default, Next.js relies on a same-origin approach, imposing a strict policy. Access-Control-Allow-Credentials - Indicates whether the browser should include credentials such as cookies or HTTP authentication in the cross-origin requestĬORS allows frontend applications to access resources from a different domain, ensuring secure cross-origin communication.Access-Control-Allow-Headers - Returned in response to a preflight request to specify the HTTP headers that are allowed in the current request.Access-Control-Allow-Methods - Added to the preflight response to indicate the permitted HTTP methods, such as GET, POST, PUT, etc.Access-Control-Allow-Origin - Specifies the origin that has access to the resource.Otherwise, it gets blocked because of a CORS policy error. If the preflight request is successful, the actual cross-origin request is performed by the browser. The server then responds with some CORS headers, indicating whether the cross-origin should be permitted or denied. To enforce CORS, browsers and servers exchange a set of specific HTTP headers.īefore making certain types of cross-origin requests, the browser sends a preflight request using the HTTP OPTIONS method to the server. Its main goal is to protect user security and prevent unauthorized access to resources and data. In detail, CORS is a protection system implemented by web browsers to enforce restrictions on cross-origin requests. In this context, an “origin” refers to the combination of the protocol, domain, and port number a request comes from. What is CORS?ĬORS is a security mechanism that enables a server to specify which origins are allowed to access and load resources in a web browser. In this complete guide, you will explore several methods for using CORS in Next.js, enabling you to handle cross-origin requests effectively and securely. When building APIs, it is critical to spend some time on Cross-Origin Resource Sharing (CORS). Over the past few years, Next.js has become a go-to framework not only for frontend development, but also for robust API development.
